About Tirupati
The Tirupati Balaji Temple is the most popular temple in the world today and is thronged by millions of devotees all over the world. The magnificent shrine has acquired a special sanctity amongst the Hindus and is called the Kali Yuga Vaikuntam. Tirupati is a pilgrim’s paradise dotted with many religious Hindu shrines – including the famed Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple which is perched atop one of the seven peaks of Tirumala hills. This landmark temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (also known as Balaji in North India and Govinda in South India).
Divinity Amidst Nature
Adding to the existing sanctity of Tirupati is Sri Sakthi Peetam which is located on the tranquil banks of the Rayala Cheruvu Lake – the largest historical lake of Andhra Pradesh dug by Sri Krishnadevaraaya. Situated about 14 km from the main Tirupati town, it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in a calm, pristine and divine environment surrounded by lush greenery and natural beauty. The Peetam is constructed in a green expanse of two acres, at the foothills of Tirumala, with a stunning view of the valleys and a breathtaking landscape. On one side, it is flanked by an expanse of green fields that are a sight for sore eyes. One can spend an entire day meditating here in peace. The positive vibes and energy exuded by this place make it an ideal spot for devotees who would want to reflect the same on themselves and enjoy solitary moments and divine connect with God.
In the early morning hours, Siddhas from the Siddha hills (Siddhula Konda) of Seshachalam take bath in ‘Rayalacheruvu’ lake before going to Tirumala to serve Lord Venkateswara and return to the hills at night. Some of the Siddhas wished to have an opportunity to serve the Lord in the mornings and nights. Thus, their desire has shaped up as this temple.
Sri Siddheswarananda Swamiji envisioned a spiritual center to promote spirituality, Hindu Dharma and to involve women in Dharmic activities by showcasing their importance. Sri Mathaji Ramyananda Bharathi Swamini also received a few indications and signs from Goddess Kaali to establish a temple in accordance with the Saaktheya Culture (Sakthism: Sakthi is the epitome of power, the doctrine of energy, the eternal Goddess) and Hindu Dharma. The strength of Saaktheya culture lies in motherliness. When Mathaji expressed her desire along with the goddess’s specifications, Sri Swamiji initially advised her to wait for the divine timing. And when that auspicious time arrived, Sri Swamiji left to the scenic Rayalacheruvu along with his disciples.
Naarayani wanted to take the form of Marakatha Kaali here; Siddha Yogini Mathaji Ramyananda Bharathi Swamini served as the medium/ instrument to build this temple. With the desire of the divine mother, Siddha’s plan, blessings of Sri Siddheswarananda Bharati Swamiji and Mathaji Ramyananada Bharathi Swamini along with the sheer determination of the devotees, the Sri Sakthi Peetam soon started taking shape.
There were innumerable divine interventions during the raising of the Sri Sakthi Peetam as well. One noteworthy experience is from Mutyalamma, the local village Goddess who has been safeguarding the village and its people for centuries. During the construction, she gave a few signs and indications to villagers about her wish to stay at Sri Sakthi Peetam. She is believed to have assured them that she will grace the devotees from her new abode. Also, throughout the construction of the Sri Sakthi Peetam, the divine mother blessed everyone at the site with numerous miracles and divine experiences.
For the first time in India, the most powerful idols of Sri Marakatha Sakthi Kaali along with Sri Marakatha Siddheswara are installed in this temple. Also, Sri Paathala swetha varahi (a white colored), Sri Paathala adharvana pratyangira badhrakaali (blood colored), Sri Swarna Kubera(golden colored) distinct idols, first of their kind were also installed. Dasa Mahavidyas, Lord Kalabhairava Swami, Radha and Krishna, Sri Sakthi Ganapathi, Sri Sakthidhara Subrahmanya Swami, Malayala Hanumantha(at the entrance of the temple), Sri Shiridi Sai Baba, Sri Mutyalamma, Sri chakra Mahameru, Jagadguru Sri Aadi Sankaracharya are adding more serenity and sacredness to this temple.
The devotees who visit the temple experience the divine vibrations of Sakthi along with peaceful vibrations of nature. The deities are gracing the Saadhakaas to advance in their spiritual path and are fulfilling the wishes of the devotees who are worshipping them, by resolving problems including black magic effects, ill-health, marital, financial, educational, property, and other issues.
